House Report, Week 22

Howdy, and welcome to the weekly report on the status of the house in construction. A great way to look at what is happening as a quick overview, it includes links to pictures and other great content. Click on the read more link to find out the latest news this week.

They delivered the preassembled portions of the cabinetry today... lots of drawers and boxes plastic wrapped and sitting in the rooms in various stages of completeness. They also removed the temporary power box at the back of the property.

More work was done today. Unfortunately, we can't see it. They started to secure the house today and forgot that we needed a key. So, we're working on getting one ASAP. You'll have to take our word for it, since the camera doesn't really take good pictures through windows coated with construction material.

Aug 30 Thursday

We got the key today... someone left it for us under a random piece of masonry. A lot of the cabinets in the klitchen got put up, including the framwork for the island. They also installed a lot of stuff in the bathroom.

Aug 31 Friday

They continued to work on installing the prefabricated cabinets, this time focusing on the utility room and the master bathroom.

the Week in Review

We apologize for the lack of work on the house. As there was no work done last week, you got treated to a Lifestyle Update, which I trust was a good read for you. We are now back to work on the house, so lots of exciting stuff should be happening next week. School is still (somewhat) terrifying in certain classes, but not nearly as bad as it could be. And, we get a four day break this weekend (explains why I'm typing in the middle of a school day, eh?), so there's some relief there.

Stay tuned for more information, as we are rounding the final corner in getting the house built. As always, you can click the banner at the top of the website to view our Google+ profile and see all the latest pictures.

Our website is also there for a general overview of the whole project, so you can look at that as well. Just click here to view the timeline, or click the main portal link at the top of the page.

Thanks for keeping up with us! It is a great pleasure to share all this information with you and know that we aren't forgotten back in lovely, sunny SoCal.

Brother
