House Report, Week 11

This is the report on what has been happening with the construction of the house. Remember, you can get a daily detailed report by following the updates on Google+!  To conserve the space on the blog, you're going to have to click the read more link to get the report.

Hey, just a quick note before we start: most of what's happening right now is better seen than written, so click on the links to check the pictures out!

June 4 Monday

Cleanup and minor things patched up. Nothing much, in other words.

June 5 Tuesday

The composite part of the roof was installed in one day. According to our neighbors, they were out there at 6.30a and working hard by 7.00a. Ouch.

June 6 Wednesday

It was rainy and stormy starting mid morning, but apparently they were able to do a lot of cleanup inside the house. The roof kept them nice and dry, so that was very nice.

June 7 Thursday

The lightning protection system was put in today... we now have a spike at each point of the roof and heavy duty cable connecting the cable to three grounding points (not set up yet).

June 8 Friday

They installed more metal bars for reinforcements, added security sensors to all the operable windows and constructed a little half chimney for our fireplace.

the Week in Review

If this week seemed a bit slow to you, that's because there is a walkthrough scheduled on Monday that will discuss placement of lights, switches, electrical plugs, and data ports. The next few weeks (give or take) will result in the installation of the electrical wiring, heat/cooling, security/data wiring, and plumbing.

Remember, the blog will not be updated every weekday with pictures, you will have to go to our Google+ page to look at our daily updates. Click the banner at the top of the blog to go!

Also, visit our website to view the timeline for building our house... it provides a good overview of what to expect.

Thanks for following!
