a Walk in the City
As promised, here is the second post for today: an update on what we did in downtown OKC! Exploring the city for the second time since we've gotten here! What a surprise (especially since we aren't normally this proactive :P) to get to this point so quickly.
Yesterday, we participated in the Oklahoma City American Heart Association Heart Walk with Daddy's coworkers from Boeing. You can take a look at the pictures below:

It was quite an interesting experience, especially because of the unique ability to check out Bricktown and other areas on a 5K walk. I hope you enjoyed the photos. Anyway, we woke up around 6.30a and dragged our feet until we were truly awake. By 7.30a, we had parked in front of Daddy's coworker's house apartment "ridiculously-expensive-but-worth-it-townhouse-right-next-to-bricktown" (what she described it as) and walked a couple of blocks over to an IHOP where we had breakfast. (Dad tried to have breakfast with an executive and was disappointed when he found the doors to the offices of IHOP locked. He then realized that the restaurant doors were further down.)
About an hour later, we went back to his coworker's... (let's just call it a townhouse for short, shall we?) and met her. She gave us a tour of the townhouse, showing all its features, from a two car garage with an included 6 person in sardine configuration tornado shelter to the expansive bedrooms, one of which affords a view of the very top of the much-talked-about Devon Tower. I took a picture of it, you should find it at the very beginning of the photos...
We then proceeded to the walk, which was situated right next to the Redhawks Ballpark. After meeting up with the rest of the team, we then proceeded to explore the tents, and later walk. I won't bore you with all the details, but suffice it to say that it was hotter than we would like for a walk that was supposed to be in April.
Afterwards, we checked out Coach's Restaurant that was attached to the ballpark and had a small lunch. It was pretty good, but a bit pricy. Some might go over how sad it is that baseball fare has gone so upscale and so on and so forth, but I'm not into sports so I could really care less about that aspect. The interior of the restaurant was cool, it had wonderful sofas in the lobby, and comfortable chairs at the table, so we weren't in discomfort as we talked and winded down from the workout that we just did. Some of the members of the team claimed to be allergic to exercise, but we all had a good time.
We then walked back to our car and drove home... it was a nice experience, but we were all tired and drained, so a nap seemed like a good option.
Hope we satisfied some people out there that know how much we hate to explore but we did for their sakes anyway! Until the next time, this ends the episode of experiencing. Maybe next time, we won't focus on the city, hmmm.....

Tornados!
Well, we've had some wild weather come up. Tornadoes have touched down in Norman and Northwest Oklahoma County, not more than five miles away from our location. Yikes!
The danger seems to be over, but I'll post more on Google+ if anything else comes up.
